May 16-17, 2009 Fremont Ride. This will be a fun weekend ride for two days, one night with a camp out. After a delicious pancake breakfast, ride out of the Camp Sherman area roughly following the upper John C Fremont route that headed south from The Dalles to our camp for the night under the stars alongside the Metolius River. Historic Trail Rides provides a genuine Western barbecue dinner Saturday night, and a delicious breakfast Sunday morning at 8:30 am, so you’ll have plenty to eat for the ride back.
Cost $75 per person with a horse, or Historic Trail Rides will provide a fine horse for another $50 a day.

May 29-31, 2009 Fremont Ride. This three day, two night adventure continues from the trailhead at Silver Marsh in the Fremont-Winema National Forest into classic basin and range country along Winter Rim above Summer Lake. This route parallels the one taken by John Fremont as his expedition team passed through south central Oregon in 1843. Your ride will continue as far as the trailhead near Paisley, Oregon.

Nevada
July 9-12, 2009 Applegate Trail Ride. Join a four day/three night adventure following the route of the Applegate brothers into the remarkable northern Nevada Black Rock Desert. The Black Rock Desert is a dry lake bed, a flat expanse or playa now a remnant of the prehistoric Lake Lahontan, which existed between 18,000 and 7,000 BC during the last ice age. Check back for more details on this adventure in the near future.
